S U N D A Y

I hope everyone is having a relaxing weekend.

Soon enough I'll be able to photograph all of the families who are booked in and honestly, I can't wait. As soon as the rules are relaxed I'll be in touch.

One things is for sure, I have not got the patience to be a wildlife photographer. This beautiful little robin has been in my garden all afternoon.
He would sit beautifully and then just as I clicked the shutter, dive into the hedge!
Give me a toddler any day!
I'm so happy that I got this shot of him eventually in my favourite tree. .

Would you think it’s odd if I told you that I’d been thinking about this exact shot for at 6 months?
I absolutely love the movement. She’s a split second away from falling out of hold and that’s what’s perfect about it for me.
I’ve been searching locally for the perfect location. It needed perfect natural light, dark walls, a beautiful wood floor and interesting details and be private for me to exclusively rent it for a weekend. Then one day I found it!! .
I hope that very soon I’ll be able to photograph more dancers and gymnasts in this spot.
@tutu.dancewear in Brampton lent me the dress of dreams and the most elegant young dancer @ellie_shepp came to do a test shoot with me.
I had an idea for the shot and Ellie is so incredible (my timing isn’t too bad either) and we nailed this in one shot!

@eessheppard I think you need to make some wall space.

I WON AN AWARD

I was not expecting that!

As I’ve got the time at the moment, I thought I’d enter a couple of images into the Guild of Photographers Image of the Month Competition.

I got my first ever SILVER!
In the world of photography this is a big deal. It still hasn’t sunk in.

Message from the Guild - “Congratulations in achieving your Silver Bar, which is only awarded to images that are very well crafted!” It means that potentially it could go forward for the image of the year award. I can’t even imagine!

DANCE

This image is part of a new and exciting project for me.

At the beginning of March I started working on a plan to create exquisite dance photography sessions. My aim was to create high quality, timeless dance portraits.

I photographed the most elegant young dancer I’ve ever seen and we create a set of beautiful images in a stunning location.

SESSIONS

I can’t wait to be able announce that this is happening, hopefully soon.
Please send me a message or comment ‘more info’ if you’d like to be the first to hear the details, hopefully in July. The sessions will be open to any dancers age 5+

The amazing weather has done us so much good today

The amazing weather has done us so much good today.
We went to Holmebrook Valley Park. It's only 10 minutes from us and I genuinely don't think we could have been happier if we'd driven 100 miles.

We dipped our toes in the lake from the little jetty and pretended we were on holiday.
