Sally - ‘Oh god, don’t photograph me, I can’t stand it’. Me - ‘This is our third time mate, you’ll be fine, let me in the door (kidding about the last bit)’.

I've just received an email to let me know that I'm a finalist in the Sole Trader category of the Chesterfield Business awards 2026! There are three other great local businesses in the catagory. My good friend @annie_littlewood @andrewhmedia and @mike_jones_prop_photography The awards dinner is on the 1st July 🌟
‘What’s the point?’ Oh, good question Helen (sorr ‘What’s the point?’ Oh, good question Helen (sorry, might be losing my insta mind a bit, but stay with me). When you book a Personal Branding shoot, we’re not creating a collection of pretty portraits, we’re creating a set of really descriptive, reassuring, trust building images that call to your potential customers. Those potential customers who are hovering over the ‘Book’ button. They just need to be reassured that you’re the one for them. The same applies whatever business you have. I can help you create that narative. If you’ve got a mo, look through this fabulous shoot with @inreachpilates Each image has a different focus, and are proportioned differently for different needs. This is a small highlight from shoot 1 of 3 this year. More to follow. Ooh, and this was shot in my studio, just before the renovation. We can still strip the studio like this, but the backdrop will be a light plaster pink x
“You made me feel like rockstar” Choosing the rig “You made me feel like rockstar” Choosing the right location and mood for shoot with Derbyshire Poet @tylerturnerwrites was an exciting and creative process. The images needed to speak of Tyler’s roots, her place within her community and the valuable work that she’s doing there. Here’s a small selection of favourites, including a few insights behind the scenes. Created as part of a funded project by @junctionartsuk and @derbyshiremakes to promote artists, makers and community groups in the Bolsover area.
At the end of last year I was commissioned by @der At the end of last year I was commissioned by @derbyshiremakes and @junctionartsuk photograph 10 artists, makers and community groups to be exhibited alongside last weekend’s Derbyshire Makes in Bolsover Festival. What a treat that my new friend, artist @patricialanegallery had been chosen as one of the artists to be featured. I first met Patricia at a creative network organised by Junction Arts, and she later became a regular at our @loop_chesterfield meet-ups. I’ve waited so long to share these! Thank you to everyone involved for everything you do, showcasing and supporting the arts @artsderbyshire @englisheritage @platformthirty1 @oldbolsovertowncouncil @weare.local and special thanks to Patricia for inviting me into her studio to capture her working.
