Guild Of Photographers Qualified Member. Qualified with the Guild of Photographers!

I’ve just had the exciting news that I’ve passed, and I’m now Qualified with the Guild of Photographers!

Here is the official line from the Guild –

“The Qualified status is aligned to standards of competence that reflect a level where the customer should be ‘pleased with the results’, when employing the services of a skilled tradesman (the photographer). In other words ‘Qualified’ indicates professional ‘competence’ to a level where the Guild is willing to recognise the photographer as an ambassador of the association , so those who achieve that level should be proud of doing so.”

What does it mean to be qualified with the Guild of Photographers?

So in a nutshell it means that the Guild of Photographers is happy to recognise my skill to their high standards.

I needed to submit 21 flawless images to pass. 3 images from 7 different photoshoots. I needed to demonstrate my technical skill, consistency, understanding of lighting, composition, styling, engagement with the person being photographed…… easy really!

Here are my 21 images for my qualification panel. I’m so proud that I’ve managed to achieve this so quickly especially as all of theses are genuine customer sessions rather than models (with the exception of the last set which is my little niece Annie).

The next step is to continue entering the Image of the Month competitions and then possibly go for Craftsman. I think I’ll enjoy my new qualified status for now. I’m excited for all the outdoor, studio and newborn home sessions that I have booked in this spring.

Thank you for the ongoing support of my family friends and wonderful customers, I really couldn’t have done it without you. Almost everything I do comes from personal recommendations.

Thanks also to the 7 families who were happy for me to use their photographs for my qualification panel, I’m really grateful.

Please get in touch if I can help you with anything or if you’d like to discuss booking a session.
