Helen Rowan Photography – Outfit and Styling Guide for Spring Sessions

Mar 10, 2020

Bluebell Outfit Colour Paeltte

Hi, I hope you’re looking forward to your Bluebell Mini Session or Family Session this spring.

I’ve put together a quick guide to help with choosing outfits for you and your family.

I really want you to be happy and comfortable so please feel free to wear what you feel happy in.

It’s a good idea to choose colours that work with the landscape rather than competing with it. We want the focus to be on your beautiful faces and everything else to harmonise.

Highstreet Outfits which are perfect for Spring Shoots

I’ve done a quick round-up of colours and styles that are currently in store. There are ideas for all ages from babies to teens.

COLOURS

Blues, light denim, cream, white, beige all look amazing. A subtle stripe, small print or larger floral also looks really lovely.

I’d suggest not trying to match the outfits for the family.

My top tip is to lay out everything that you’re planning to wear on the bed and make sure than one piece doesn’t stand out too much.

ACCESSORIES

Here are a few ideas for accessories for both boys and girls. All of the kids clothes shops have lovely coordinating accessories.

  • Straw Hats
  • Hair Bows/Bands
  • Flower Crowns
  • Straw Baskets
  • Bags
  • Cotton Scarves
  • Soft toy – Jelly Bean Bunny for example

FAMILY STYLING

Everyone looked amazing last year, but here are a few images that might help to inspire your outfit choices.
